If either of these markers are positive, it might indicate a cause for gut symptoms and we would recommend that more tests are carried out. If the tests are negative, then it's much less likely that bowel inflammation or bowel cancer is a cause for your symptoms.

Who should not use the Easy Gut Inflammation and Bowel Cancer Test?

What you need to know about our Easy Gut Inflammation and Bowel Cancer Test

Gut inflammation is a common cause of gut symptoms at any age. As you get older - e.g. over 40 - we should also check for bowel cancer. To make life easy, we've combined both tests so you only take one simple stool sample.

Our Easy Gut Inflammation and Bowel Cancer Test combines a calprotectin test for gut inflammation and a qFIT test for bowel cancer. The qFIT test picks up microscopic amounts of blood in the stool which is a sensitive marker of bowel cancer.

Your result will include your actual calprotectin and FIT levels as well as a report from one of our doctors explaining what your results mean. You'll also be able to download the formal lab report so you can easily share your results with your doctor.
