What is a women's health test?

A women's health test is a blood test to check hormone balance and other key biomarkers that are particularly relevant to women's health.

A women's health test can check the levels of your key hormones including thyroid hormone, oestrogen and testosterone. It can also help you understand the effects of the menopause on other key aspects of your health such as your metabolic health and bone health.

How can women's health tests help you?

Women face some specific health challenges as they go through monthly hormonal cycles as well as the profound changes of the menopause. Furthermore, women are more prone to certain health conditions such as osteoporosis and thyroid disorders.

Women's health tests can provide important insights into the causes of symptoms and help to distinguish between the effects of natural hormonal changes versus disorders that may benefit from treatment.

Apart from providing peace of mind, a women's health check is important to monitor the effects of the menopause on metabolic health, highlighting areas for action to promote healthy ageing.
